Who am I?
Hey! Welcome to my Blog! 🙂
My name is Rachel, and I am just an average American that is chasing the American Dream. After three short months working my first J.O.B., I knew that this was not the life I was designed to live. Upon experiencing a massive, life-changing event, I created a goal to live a “self-directed” life. I yearn to live a life that I won’t regret.
I am 25 when starting this blog. My husband and I, along with my fur baby, Nash, live in an “attic.” Yes, it is an attic, well kind-of…if you want to learn more, you will have to keep reading 😉 We have adopted a mindset of Minimizing and Frugality, and these concepts have changed our outlook on life. Our life is all about making decisions based on options.
Having the ability to choose how I spend my time, energy, and money is what we are daily working on creating.
I became a full-time real estate investor by the age of 24, and I am Real Estate Agent. On the path to reach financial independence BEFORE age 30, I have a desire to share my life experiences with others in hopes to change just one life!
Why follow me?
“There will always be a reason why you meet people. Either you need them to change your life, or you are the one that will change theirs.”
I have 2 1/2 years of Real Estate Investing…If that doesn’t motivate you, I’m not sure what will! HAHA Seriously though, I have nothing exceptional to say to convince you to follow my journey except that I believe my story has the potential to change someone’s life for the better…Maybe it’s yours. 🙂 My husband and I met a gentleman named Paul, who has mentored us, and forever changed the path of our life. I am merely here to give back to someone in the way that Paul gave to us.
Our Self-Directed Life
The self-directed life is a well-balanced life where you control HOW you spend your time, energy and money. You can DO anything you want and spend it with whomever you wish. But first, you must turn off society’s influence and find what it is that you genuinely want to do. I am still working on this, but I am making small progress day after day.
Tim Ferris asks in his fantastic book, “The 4-Hour Workweek” (you should buy and read) “What is the opposite of Happiness?…Boredom…” He goes on to say that “Excitement is the more practical synonym for happiness, and it is precisely what you should strive to chase.”
Excitement: Life is ultimately finding what excites you and going after your dreams. Let’s chase our dreams together and create a life where you control How and When you spend your time.
